Chalamish to Lead Company's Next Phase of Growth, Continuing Collaborative Work Management Momentum
SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 8, 2016) - Clarizen, a global leader in collaborative work management software, today announced that it has appointed Boaz Chalamish as its new chief executive officer. Chalamish, a 25-year technology industry veteran formerly of VMware and Mercury Interactive, will build upon Clarizen's industry-recognized product vision and steady growth, most recently reflected in a 45 percent year-over-year growth in total bookings in 2015.
"Clarizen has evolved from an entrepreneurial company to a maturing organization and has been instrumental in launching the collaborative work management market," said Dan Avida, Clarizen board member and general partner at Opus Capital. "Boaz Chalamish will help the company build on the solid position Clarizen has created during the last decade and chart its next stage of growth."
"This is an exciting time at Clarizen, and I am eager to work with the team to accelerate our growth, bringing more enterprise customers into the future of work," said Chalamish. "Clarizen meets a deep market need for technology that unites teams in today's dispersed and distributed working environments. I'm honored to join this innovative and forward-looking company that is powering the modern, collaborative workplace."
Chalamish held executive positions at VMware, where he led the company's cloud management and end-user computing business. Previously, Chalamish was senior vice president of research and development at HP Software, following the Mercury Interactive acquisition for $4.5 billion. As senior vice president and general manager at Mercury Interactive, he was instrumental in creating the business technology optimization category and growing the company from zero to $1 billion in annual sales.
"I'm very proud of the achievements of the Clarizen team, with thousands of customers in 79 countries, including some of the world's largest brands," said Avinoam Nowogrodski, Clarizen's founder and outgoing CEO. "I am confident that the strength of Clarizen's industry-leading product, promising pipeline and talented global team will deliver tremendous value into the future. I wish Boaz all the best in his new role and am certain he will make a significant positive impact."
The CEO search process was led by Nowogrodski and board members. Nowogrodski will remain on Clarizen's board and will assist during the transition, before moving on to new opportunities.
